Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) Graduate 2018
Having travelled all the way from Canada, my experience at the Medway School of Pharmacy has been quite unique. Being a mature student, I had previously completed an Honours Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from The University of Toronto. Before graduation I realised there were limited opportunities with a BSc degree and that more education is required in order to succeed in today’s competitive job market. In any profession, candidates need to stand out from other competitors and a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy was definitely what I needed in order to distinguish myself as it would lead to boundless opportunities.
After having completed some work experience in a Pharmacy I realised this was the profession which I wanted to pursue. Through this experience, I began to develop a deeper understanding of the Pharmacy profession, specifically the unique skills and responsibilities which are required of a Pharmacist. Beyond what is observed over the counter, the role of a Pharmacist is more than knowing the science, it is a duty to provide knowledge to patients about their medications and conditions.
Having attended a Study Abroad Fair in Toronto, I discovered the Medway School of Pharmacy and came to learn that the School accepted students from high school and did not require the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) for admission, a test which many Canadian schools require for entry. The incredible teaching environment, coupled with the exceptional lab facilities at the Medway School of Pharmacy, provides the right environment for any student to be successful in their Pharmacy degree.
