Research title: The role of TRESK and TASK3 potassium channels in regulating and maintaining circadian rhythms in mammals
Circadian rhythms are highly influenced by our day-night cycles. However, deficits in the regulatory mechanisms of the mammalian clock can result in number of clinical disorders, such as seasonal affective disorder, depression or cancer. My research will focus on understanding the role played by K2P TRESK and TASK-3 channels at the level of retina through to the circadian clock.
