Research title: New insights into the intracellular control of allergic effector cell function
Allergies are an increasing social and economic burden worldwide. However, the severity of clinical symptoms differs markedly from person to person. Basophils potentially play a key role in explaining these differences since their abilities to release inflammatory mediators is highly donor dependent. This project will elucidate signalling pathways that contribute to the control of basophil reactivity and help identify new therapeutic targets.
