Andrew graduated from The School of Pharmacy, University of London in 1998, and registered as a pharmacist in 1999. Andrew worked in community pharmacy since qualifying, providing NHS Pharmacy Services throughout Kent and holding a number of managerial positions within leading community pharmacy chains. During 2006, he was the pharmacy representative on the Professional Executive Committee at Ashford Primary Care Trust.

Andrew has wide ranging coaching and training experience supporting the development of colleagues from NVQ through to pre-registration training level. In 2007 Andrew became a regional pre-registration training manager for a leading community pharmacy chain and joined the Medway School of Pharmacy as a community pharmacy teacher practitioner.

Andrew became a full time clinical lecturer in 2009 and was promoted to the role of senior lecturer in 2018. He is currently a Module Convener for the year 4 module PHAM 1125: Preparing for Practice, and the undergraduate Senior Tutor, overseeing student support and professional development portfolios.

Andrew is the line manager for the growing teacher practitioner team and is the Graduate Pre-registration Support Co-ordinator who is responsible for organising and delivering conferences, study days and multimedia support.

Andrew’s main focus within the School is undergraduate teaching provision and student support. However, his research interests centre on supporting future and existing practitioners to implement learning from continuing professional development (CPD) in their daily practice and maximising the effectiveness of the delivery of the undergraduate pharmacy degree programme and pre-registration pharmacist training.
