Poster Presenation From Two MSc General Pharmacy Practice Students
Work by Jemma Lowe and Anastasia Vrana
Two MSc General Pharmacy Practice students, Jemma Lowe and Anastasia Vrana, presented their posters last week.
Anastasia outlined the work she had undertaken at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust where she works as a mental health pharmacist. She evaluated counselling given to patients on sodium valproate, interviewing patients and consultants.
Jemma, a pharmacist now working at Surrey and Sussex NHS Healthcare Trust, has worked on a thesis looking at the effectiveness of ward and dispensary screened discharge prescriptions at the Ashford and St Peter's Hospital where she worked at the time.
Both students outlined ways in which the services could be improved and how the pharmacist might make a positive impact in patient care. 'both were really interesting projects' said Vilius Savikas MSoP PhD student who attended the session.
