Pharmacy technicians win branch of the year
The local Kent branch of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians (APTUK) awarded Branch of the Year 2016
The local Kent branch of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians (APTUK), run by Lynn Gallagher, Medway School of Pharmacy and Sue Jones East Kent Hospital Trust, was awarded Branch of the Year 2016 at the National Conference of Pharmacy Technicians held in Birmingham in June. The branch was awarded a trophy and £200. The trophy will reside at Medway School of Pharmacy where the branch is based.
The branch had to show how it had contributed to the educational development of its local members and what initiatives the branch had set up to encourage new members. Kent runs three meetings per year, including a Christmas social and has developed a “Virtual Branch” which enables people who were unable to attend local meetings to have access to a local branch virtually.
Medway was also shortlisted last year following the formation of the branch in 2014 by Lynn and Sue.
