Medway students to present at nephrology symposium

Medway PhD students invited to give presentations at the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) Forefronts Symposium

Mark Kelly and Kadeshia Dunn are invited speakers at the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) Forefronts Symposium in March 2014 taking place in South Carolina, USA.

Mark will be presenting his research on novel nephrotoxic mechanisms of immunosuppressive agents commonly prescribed to renal transplant patients (calcineurin inhibitors) and Kadeshia will be presenting her research on the functional role of GABA and its receptors in the kidney.

Mark and Kadeshia are both PhD students in the Urinary Physiology Group, jointly led by by Drs, Claire Peppiatt-Wildman, Scott Wildman and Dr Stephen Kelley and are working in collaboration with nephrologists in the Kent Kidney Research Group (Kent and Canterbury Hospital).
