Student associations
UMSA stands for the Universities at Medway Students’Association. It is the representative body and service provider for all students studying at the Chatham Maritime campus. You are automatically a member of the association if you are a registered student of the University of Greenwich and University of Kent which incorporates the Medway School of Pharmacy, Canterbury Christ Church University or Mid Kent College. The association exists to ensure that you make the most out of your time at university. The association has grown into a successful organisation in a very short time with numerous societies, award winning sports teams, commercial services and an executive committee who are devoted to making sure that your university experience is unforgettable.
The students of the Medway School of Pharmacy have also established their own student association, the Medway Pharmacy Students' Association (MPSA).
The British Pharmaceutical Student Association (BPSA) visits the campus each year and students are encouraged to join. The School has funded students to attend annual BPSA events since 2004. A Medway 1st year student (Allison Coll) won the National Student of the Year Competition in 2006 and represented British Pharmacy Students at an International student conference in Australia as part of the award. Students are also encouraged to attend local branch meetings of the RPSGB (held in the School of Pharmacy from September 2004).
