Medway First Joint Postgraduate Presentations Event

The first joint Postgraduate Presentations Event, organised by Emiliana De Santis and Lembe Ngassam, postgraduate students at the Medway School of Pharmacy was held on the 17th June 2011. It served as a platform for PhD students from the three science-related schools based at Medway to showcase their research work.
The event was very successful and brought PhD students from Medway School of Pharmacy, Medway Sciences and School of Science together. They presented their research to a varied audience of colleagues, academics and staff promoting lively discussions.
A poster session following oral presentations gave a great opportunity for networking and will hopefully promote future collaborations between schools. The RSC Kent local section kindly provided application packages and magazines in order to raise awareness of benefits and opportunities offered to new PhD students.
Given the positive response it is hoped that this has been a great opening for many similar events to follow.
