MPSA’s Pharmacy Ball Wins 'Best Event of the Year' For 3rd Time

Medway Pharmacy Students' Association (MPSA) has won won 'Best Event of the Year' for the third time in a row since the inaugural Ball in 2009. The award is given by the Universities at Medway Students’ Association (UMSA) for the best social event organised by the various student societies at the Medway Campus. The Pharmacy Ball is MPSA's flagship event and planning starts early.
Alisdair Jones, MPSA Vice-President explains: "Cue October 2010. The MPSA committee is having its first meeting of the year and we're already having to plan the annual ball, which won't take place till the middle of March - such is the amount of planning that has to go into it! With the theme of 'The Oscars' decided upon, we spent a lot of time this year trying to find a new venue, having hosted the previous two balls at The Corn Exchange in Rochester.
We were incredibly lucky to secure the Marriott Hotel in Maidstone, which exceeded all our expectations and provided our 'regulars' with somewhere different to let their hair down!
With the services of the award-winning band 'Two Choices', DJ and caricaturist (always popular), combined with the excellent service provided by the hotel, including the delicious three-course gourmet meal we were served, the night proved to be a tremendous success with over two hundred students and staff attending. We were also immensely pleased to be awarded UMSA's 'Best Event of the Year' for the third year in a row.
We'll be planning next years ball again in a couple of months time and we've set a pretty high target to beat, so please know us know if there's anything you'd like to see for the annual MPSA Ball 2012!"
