Rang Prize of the British Pharmacological Society Award

January 2009

Professor Alistair Mathie (Biological Sciences), together with Professor John Peters (University of Dundee) and Dr Stephen Alexander (University of Nottingham), has been awarded the Rang Prize of the British Pharmacological Society for 2008. The award was made as a result of their work as editors of the Guide to Receptors and Channels (GRAC) which as both a research tool and a teaching tool was considered by the Society to have made an important contribution to the maintenance and development of Pharmacology as a discipline. Rang stated that GRAC is “a much-valued and regularly updated compendium that is published as a BJP supplement and brings so much credit to the journal” (Alexander, S.P.H. Mathie, A. & Peters, J.A. (2008). Guide to receptors and channels (GRAC), 3rd edition. Br J Pharmacol, 153 (Suppl. 2), S1–S209).
