Non Medical Prescribing programme gains RPSGB approval for next 3 years
December 9, 2008
The Non Medical Prescribing programmes’ most recent approval from the RPSGB has provided accreditation for the next three years. Members of the programme team visited the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) in Lambeth in September 2008 for the approval event. The 8 month programme at the Medway School of Pharmacy combines distance learning with study days and a placement element. The programme is open to pharmacists, nurses and allied health professionals who wish to include prescribing as part of their service to patients. Since its first approval from the RPSGB back in 2004, the programme has seen the qualification of nearly 150 prescribers. The team was congratulated on providing a programme which is tailored closely to the needs of the individual student, regardless of their area of clinical expertise. The programme is also approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Health professions Council.
