Poster awards at BPC 2007 and FIP 2007 conferences
BPC 2007
Manchester 10-12 September 2007
On Tuesday 11th September 2007, 3 posters were selected as the best poster in science section of BPC by the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The poster presented by Dr Nokhodchi from Medway School of Pharmacy and his collaborator Dr Javadzadeh from Tabriz School of Pharmacy was selected as one of the best three. The award was made on the poster entitled “effect of pH of the crystallization medium on the physicomechanical properties of carbamazepine crystals” explaining crystallization techniques developed by the authors for the improvement of the drug bioavailability. The bioavailability of carbamazepine, a drug used routinely in the treatment of epilepsy, is limited by the poor dissolution rate. The crystallization method was able to increase the dissolution rate and hence bioavailability.
FIP 2007
Beijing, China 31 August- 6 September 2007
Every year an award is made towards the best poster in Industrial Pharmacy section. The 67th International Congress FIP 2007, held in Beijing, China, awarded Dr Ali Nokhodchi and his colleagues the best poster of the Industrial Pharmacy section. The awarded poster entitled “A new method for preparation of insulin-loaded poly (D,L-Lactic-Coglycolic acid) microsphere: release and stability study of protein”, described achievements in preparation of insulin loaded microspheres with high encapsulation efficiency and constant insulin release rate.
