An article in Guardian highlighted the highs and lows of the clearing process. Tauriq Mehkary, an MPharm student at the Medway School of Pharmacy, was interviewed and tells his experience of clearing. “I'm enjoying the course; Greenwich is a great place to study.”
Novel approaches for the control of Leishmaniasis

BBC News online, 24 Dash online, Medway News, Medway Messenger, Kentish Saturday Observer and Yorkshire Post reported on Tim Paget’s research into Leishmaniasis caused by parasites transmitted through the bite of a sand fly which can cause horrible skin infections.

Funding for artificial speech valves

Throat cancer patients may soon have better artificial speech valves, thanks to pioneering new research at the Medway School of Pharmacy a joint venture between the Universities of Greenwich and Kent. Dr Tim Paget, Reader in Medical Microbiology is working with Engineers and Clinicians at the University of Hull to develop a new type of artificial speech valve, funded by an £380,000 grant from the NHS National institute for Health Research – New and Emerging Application of Technology programme.
