Tarlochan graduated with a first class honour degree in pharmacy at the Welsh School of Pharmacy, University of Wales and completed his membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) at Northwick Park Hospital and Clinical Research Centre.
He was awarded the Leverhulm Scholarship by the RPSGB to undertake a PhD in Clinical Oncology with Professor David Luscombe, University of Wales in collaboration with Velindre Hospital. This was the first purely clinical PhD completed at the University. He then completed a 3 year post doctoral research programme in Clinical Pharmacokinetics with Professor Malcolm Rowland, University of Manchester.
Tarlochan gained extensive clinical research experience in the Pharmaceutical (GSK and Pfizer) and Contract Research Industries (Simbec Research Limited and Harrison Clinical Research) where he held a number of senior management positions. Prior to joining the Medway School of Pharmacy in 2008, he managed a busy Community Pharmacy, where he was responsible for implementing each element of the New Pharmacy Contract.
