Cleopatra first joined the School in 2005, as a Teacher Practitioner and worked for almost four years teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the School and as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in surgery within the East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust. In this role she directed and managed students on placements and acted as a conduit to establish consultant teaching, research and audit links between the School and the hospital Trust.

Cleopatra decided to go into full-time academia to concentrate on teaching and research and was appointed Clinical Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice in October 2008. Within the School she continues to teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She has developed postgraduate modules and written short courses in the medicine use review series and patient monitoring in practice. She is currently course coordinator for the PDDA4 Systems Pharmacology course and MPharm stage 4 year coordinator.

Cleopatra came to the School from an extensive background in hospital pharmacy. She has spent more than 20 rewarding years working in hospital pharmacy in the USA, the Caribbean and UK. Her professional expertise in clinical pharmacy has enabled her to hold a variety of senior positions including Senior Surgical Pharmacist, Directorate Lead Surgical Pharmacist (UK) as well as Chief Pharmacist of a 600-bed hospital (Caribbean). In 1992 she was involved in research that established a Palliative Care service within the University Hospital of Wales (UK).
