I first joined the School in 2005 as a Teacher Practitioner, teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the School while working as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in surgery within the East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust.

In 2008 I decided to go into full-time academia to concentrate on teaching and research and was appointed Clinical Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice where I continued to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching provision within the School. I have developed postgraduate modules and written short courses in the medicine use review series and patient monitoring in practice. I am currently Convenor for the Pharmacology and Therapeutics 1 module and Pre-registration Coordinator.

I came to the School from an extensive background in hospital pharmacy. I have spent more than 20 rewarding years working in hospital pharmacy in the USA, the Caribbean and UK. My professional expertise in clinical pharmacy has enabled me to hold a variety of senior posts including Senior Surgical Pharmacist, Directorate Lead Surgical Pharmacist, academic and NHS research positions (UK) as well as Chief Pharmacist of a 600-bed hospital (Caribbean). I have conducted multidisciplinary research in the past that resulted in the establishment of a Palliative Care service within the University Hospital of Wales, UK.
