Buge joined the Medway School of Pharmacy as Clinical Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice from her previous job as Project Director and Community Pharmacy Lead for the Welwyn Hatfield Primary Care Trust. In this role she provided the strategic direction and leadership for the Welwyn Hatfield PCT, in the implementation of the new community pharmacy contract. She was responsible for producing the strategic PCT pharmaceutical needs assessment document published in March 2005. She also contributed to the development of modern and innovative pharmaceutical services in accordance with PCT priorities and targets. She qualified as a pharmacist in 1982 and proceeded to undertake her MSc and PhD in pharmacology at the University of Manchester.

Buge was extensively involved in the accreditation programme at the school and actively contributed to the development of an innovative MPharm curriculum designed to meet the needs of pharmacy in the 21st Century. She is involved in teaching clinical pharmacology on the MPharm and FdPP programmes implementing a case study approach to learning; the primary goal being to aid student’s development of the skills of self-learning, critical thinking and decision making.

She is currently the Deputy Head of School and the Director of Learning and Quality (Undergraduate programmes).
